Ministers and Members of Parliament alongside leading figures from the world of policing, crime, and policy are amongst those giving evidence to the Youth Select Committee on 5 and 12 July as part of an inquiry into knife crime.
Today’s session will address media, culture and social influences, an offender focus, policy development and solutions and strategies.
The Youth Select Committee are debating knife crime at UK Parliament after over 1.1 million young people declared knife crime their biggest concern in a UK-wide ballot of young people aged 11 to 18.
The Youth Select Committee is made up of members aged 11-18 and include two Members of UK Youth Parliament (MYPs), two youth councillors, a Young Mayor, one elected representative from each of the devolved nations, and three reserved seats.
